<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system, capable of improving operability of input or the like of search conditions, when retrieving and printing a registered document. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 102 indicates the search conditions desired by a user to a document management server 100 from a search condition list with a printing appearance setting sent from the document management server 100. By the indication, the document management server 100 retrieves the document managed in a document management part and sends the document conforming to the search conditions, and the printing appearance setting to the printer 102.
