<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic package for a light emitting element including a good light reflecting region capable of efficiently reflecting the flux of emitted light from the light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic package 10 for a light emitting element includes a ceramic substrate 11, a metallized layer 42, a metallic layer 43 or the like. The ceramic substrate 11 has a cavity 31 opened on the principal plane 12 of the substrate. The mounting region 34 of the light emitting element 21 is specified approximately at the center of the bottom face 33 of the cavity 31. The metallized layer 42 is formed on the side face 32 of the cavity 31 but not formed along the outer periphery of the bottom face 33. The metallic layer 43 is made of a metallic material 74 with a melting point lower than a baking temperature of ceramic constituting the ceramic substrate 11, and formed on the metallized layer 42. The metallic layer 43 constitutes part of the light reflecting region 41 capable of reflecting the flux of emitted light from the light emitting element 21 in a predetermined direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
