PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device which can improve the problem on a security in a remote diagnosis, while a user cannot know, and can decrease hazards of leakage of internal information. SOLUTION: At step S9, which is executed after the termination of the remote diagnosis, check information (password number, etc.) stored in a check information storing means, is automatically altered. When alteration of the check information is terminated, at a subsequent step S10, the alteration is notified to a check information display means, and that the check information has been altered and that the check information after the alteration are displayed on the check information display means. The alteration of the check information may be made automatically under the condition that a given time period has passed, after the previous alteration of the password number, remote diagnosis was executed a given number of times, establishment of communication of a communication line has been canceled, or the establishment of these combinations.
