PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for a vehicle having a light emitting pointer capable of performance by light. SOLUTION: An indication part 2a of the light emitting pointer 2 is constituted of an upper side light guide part 11 and a lower side light guide part 12. In the upper side light guide part 11, light from a light source 13 for the upper side light guide part entering from its incidence plane 11b is emitted from the upper surface 11e, to thereby generate red light emission. In the lower side light guide part 12, light from a light source 14 for the lower side light guide part entering from its incidence plane 12b is emitted from the tip face 12a and the bottom surface 12d. Hereby, a part 21 of the surface 1e where scales 1b of a dial plate 1 are formed, and a part 22 of the surface 1d where characters 1a are formed are illuminated in blue from the light emitting pointer 2.
