PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic compound and its derivative which can be converted into resins having low specific dielectric constants. SOLUTION: This aromatic compound having an aminohydroxyphenyl group represented by formula (1) (wherein X is a group comprising at least one diamondoid structure; Ar<SB>1</SB>and Ar<SB>2</SB>are each an aromatic group; m<SB>1</SB>, m<SB>2</SB>and m<SB>3</SB>are each an integer of 0 to 4; Y is H or a group comprising a diamondoid structure, and Y is the group comprising a diamondoid structure, when m<SB>3</SB>is 0), a carboxyl group and a group comprising the diamondoid structure, and a derivative thereof.
