PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device for a vehicle capable of reducing a layout space. SOLUTION: This motor drive device for a vehicle includes a reactor 230 also used for a vehicle-mounted coil spring for resiliently supporting a heavy load and a switching element connected with the reactor 230. The coil spring supports the vehicle body by mounting on a suspension arm. The motor drive device drives an in-wheel type motor IWM placed near a wheel. The reactor 230 and the switching element compose a step-up converter CV for boosting the voltage of a DC power supply. Furthermore, the motor drive device includes an inverter INV for driving the motor by supplying the voltage boosted by the step-up converter.
