PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants type disposable diaper for adult incontinent person having a urine absorbing pad with superior wearing property, having superior fitting property around the waist, and having improved excrement leakage prevention effect from the waist. SOLUTION: This pants type disposable diaper 1 comprises an absorbent body 2, and an exterior member 3 fixed with the body 2 at least at one part, applying to a wearer and being retained; and is characterized in that the longitudinal both end areas in the longitudinal direction of of the body 2 are disposed with belt-shaped sheets 12 in the direction around the waist, the sheet 12 is joined with and fixed to the exterior member at least at the outside area of the circumferential edge of the body 2, the crotch side is a free end, and at least the side edges of the free end are disposed with flexible and elastic members in extended state, so that waist three-dimensional cuffs 15 covering from the circumferential edge to the end part area of the body and raised toward the inside direction of the diaper 1 are formed in an area where the body 2 exists.
