PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily input adjustment of thread tension in each rotation angle section. SOLUTION: A thread tension apparatus 93 for switching the thread tension according to the change of the rotation angle of an upper shaft is provided with: an actuator 19 being a generation source of the thread tension; a storage means 54 for storing an adjustment ratio characteristic to each of a plurality of rotation angle sections in once rotation of the upper shaft and a reference thread tension amount common to all the rotation angle sections; an operation control means 51 for controlling switching of output of the actuator based on a value obtained by multiplying the adjustment ratio of the corresponding rotation angle section to the reference thread tension amount with the change of the rotation angle of the upper shaft; and setting input means 81 to 84 for inputting the change of the reference thread tension amount.
