<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the temperature difference and humidity difference between a ceiling section and a floor section of a room to maintain the whole indoor space to constant temperature and humidity. <P>SOLUTION: A heating and humidifying unit 10 is formed of a heat source 1 installed in a room and a humidifying member 2 provided at the front face of the heat source 1. The heating and humidifying unit 10 is formed by covering both sides and a back part excluding the upper faces and front faces of the heat source 1 and humidifying member 2, with heat insulating plates 3 and providing the upper face with an openable/closable heat insulating sheet 4. The humidifying member 2 is formed of a fibrous material, provided with a plurality of air passages, and impregnated with water supplied into a water receptor 5 to contain water. When air heated by the heat source 1 is discharged from the upper face and front face of the humidifying member 2, the air is discharged with moisture vaporized from the humidifying member 2 to perform air-conditioning in the room.
