摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection mechanism for rotational drive in an image forming apparatus with which a rotary body and a drive transmission system can be engaged with and disengaged from each other while damaging neither and engagement/disengagement of the rotary body and drive transmission system is achieved inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: The connection mechanism for the rotational drive in the image forming apparatus includes: a drive transmission system disposed in an apparatus body; a photoreceptor drum 16 detachably attached to the apparatus body and normally rotated by receiving rotational drive from the drive transmission system when an image is formed; and a gear connection mechanism connecting the drive transmission system and the photoreceptor drum 16 so that they are engaged with and disengaged from each other. A gear section for the drive transmission system or photoreceptor drum 16 is separated from the body of the drive transmission system or photoreceptor drum 16 and formed as an isolated gear member 54 isolated from the body.
