PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal processing apparatus and an image signal processing method capable of inexpensively correcting the shading of a general-purpose lens, and to provide a display controller, a camera module and electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: The image signal processing apparatus 100 includes a distance calculating section 120 for finding a reference position, captured through the lens, in an effective pixel region of an image sensor and a distance between the position of each pixel of the effective pixel region and the reference position; and a pixel data correcting section 140 for correcting the pixel data of each pixel on the basis of correction data corresponding to the distance found by the calculating section 120. The correction data are found using an approximation characteristic function indicating the relationship between the distance and the correction data, and the approximation characteristic function is a function found using the characteristic functions of first-mth (m is an integer of two or more) where each of the character functions represents the relationship between the distance and the correction data.
