PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily process color data while reducing varying of a hue of color data. SOLUTION: Equal hue curved surface data consists of a plurality of pieces of sample data on an equal hue curved surface crossing with an a*b* plane by a crossing curved line P and extending in the direction of an achromatic axis (L*). For example, one of pieces of sample data having a saturation (intermediate saturation) between sample data of the highest saturation of the equal hue curved surface data and color data on an a chromatic axis is selected from the equal hue curved surface data, and sample data corresponding to a part extending nearly linearly in the direction of high saturation from the a chromatic axis of the crossing curved line P is selected as selected data Q. A half plane including the selected sample data and the a chromatic axis is set to be a reference half plane for correction, and a hue angle of the sample data is corrected to the reference half plane and thereafter mapped.
