摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical anisotropic layer which optically compensates a liquid crystal layer in black display state with higher accuracy, prevents light leakage at a wide viewing angle and hardly causes secular change, to provide a manufacturing method of the optical anisotropic layer, and to provide a liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal projector which has a large viewing angle, a high contrast, high image quality and has a long life by using an optical compensation element comprising the optical anisotropic layer. <P>SOLUTION: The polymerizable composition comprises a polymerizable liquid crystal compound and an aromatic compound having a radical polymerization inhibitor. The optical compensation element is provided with the optical anisotropic layer on the surface of at least one side of a substrate, wherein the optical anisotropic layer uses the polymerizable composition. The liquid crystal display device uses the optical compensation element. The liquid crystal projector is provided with a light source, a liquid crystal display device which is irradiated with illumination light from the light source and a projection optical system which images light optically modulated by the liquid crystal display device on a screen, wherein the liquid crystal display device is the liquid crystal display device according to the invention. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
