PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tough forming mold not affected by the coefficient of linear expansion of a mold base material and a mold forming part, a method of manufacturing the forming mold and a method of forming an optical element. SOLUTION: The forming mold is structured by integrating the mold forming part 2 having a forming surface 2a and the mold base material 3 being a base part which are made from different materials, wherein, when a relationship between the coefficient (αg) of linear expansion of a material of the mold forming part 2 and the coefficient (αk) of linear expansion of a material of the mold base part 3 isαg<αk, a contact part of the mold base material 3 with the mold forming part 2 is made recessed and when the relationship isαg>αk, the contact part of the mold base material 3 is made projected.
