摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-luminance image display for reducing a work function and achieving high electron emission efficiency by optimizing the configuration ratio, film thickness ratio, and total film thickness of a material used for an upper electrode in a display using a thin-film type electron source. SOLUTION: A metal thin film made of Au, Pt, Ir is used for the upper electrode, the amount of Au element to the amount of Ir element is set to 2.4-3.6, the amount of Pt element is set to 1.2-2.4, the film thickness of the upper electrode is set to 2.5-3.5 nm, and as a result, the work function of the upper electrode is set at 4.2-4.7 eV, thus achieving high electron emission efficiency.
