PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correcting method for suppressing the dispersion of the floating quantity of a floating type magnetic head apparatus which has a load beam composed of a metal material and extended to a recording medium, a clapper piece positioned at the recording medium side of the load beam and able to shift elastically, a flexible chassis made of the metal material coupled to the load beam, and a head body fixed to a plane of the recording medium side of the clapper piece, and in which the head body is floated on the recording medium in the rotation driving state of the recording medium. SOLUTION: The correcting method of the floating type magnetic head apparatus is provided with: a step in which the temporary mounting state of the floating type magnetic head apparatus is made and the head body is floated from a disk equivalent plane; a step in which the roll angle equivalent quantity of the tip of the load beam is detected in this temporary mounting state; and a correcting step in which the load beam is bent to a direction in which the roll angle of the tip approaches to zero based on the roll angle equivalent quantity of the tip of the load beam.
