PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of making an automobile seat slidable and being stored in a compact manner when the seat is not used. SOLUTION: The device 1 making the automobile seat 30 slidable is provided with a runner 2 provided with a stationary rail 2a and a movable rail 2b; the locking device 4 having the effective state and the ineffective state and locking the runner; a control support body 6 installed so as to be pivoted on the movable rail between an active position where the locking device 4 is made ineffective and a rest position where the locking device 4 can be returned to the effective state; a control rod 8 installed so as to be pivoted in the control support bodies 6, 56 between the position in use and the storage position; and a twist spring inclined so as to reach the control rod 8 to the position in use and inclined so as to reach the control support body 6 to the rest position.
