PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-link type rear wheel suspension device which is equipped with five links having an elastic bush at the end part of a vehicle body side, can obtain a sufficient anti-vibration and blocking performance as a commercially available vehicle, and can surely ensure high steering stability by reducing an alignment error, and an assembling method therefor. SOLUTION: In the rear wheel suspension device of the automobile, the lower end part of a shock absorber 14 is pivoted at the connecting part 30 inside of the vehicle body of a rear wheel support member 11, and the shock absorber is disposed so that the vertical reaction force generates the moment force toward toe-in around the virtual king pin shaft, and so that the vertical reaction force generates the moment force toward the negative camber to the rear wheel. The moment force toward the negative camber by the vertical reaction force is set so as to increase up to the limit area of a lateral force compared with the moment force toward the positive camber generated by the lateral force in a rear wheel of the outside of turning, and a link length variable mechanism is provided on the link 8.
