<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system capable of obtaining document utilization management configuration based on the validity determination of a printed document. <P>SOLUTION: The document management system is constituted to print out document ID 153 on a document 182 generated by printing-out in copying processing or the like, manage management data in which the document ID is associated with document utilization permission information by a management server 200, and in the case of using the document, execute document availability determination processing based on the document ID.
