<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition excellent in self-extinguishing properties and load-bearing properties, to provide a bearing given by enclosing the composition therein, and to provide a gear. <P>SOLUTION: This self-extinguishing grease composition contains a thickening agent, a base oil, and a load-bearing additive, wherein the base oil has a kinematic viscosity at 40°C of ≥300 mm<SP>2</SP>/s, a phosphorus concentration in the grease composition is less than 100 ppm, and the grease composition has a weld load of ≥1569 N in a four-ball type extreme-pressure performance test.
