<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for controlling a suspending mode in a USB controller. <P>SOLUTION: The USB controller includes a first voltage controller, a control switch, a second voltage controller, and a physical layer unit. The first voltage controller receives an external voltage and a reference voltage to output a first internal voltage, and the control switch regulates supplying and suspending the external voltage. The second voltage controller receives a voltage applied through the control switch and a reference voltage to output a second internal voltage, and the physical layer unit receives a request from a host with the first or second internal voltage as a voltage source. The power for all internal blocks except parts essential at the time of change to a resuming mode is suspended to minimize power consumption in the USB controller during a power-saving mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
