<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of displaying characters in a display screen, surely displaying various ready-to-win display patterns by scrolling respective last variable symbols upward from the lower end edge part of the display screen, and arousing a player's interest. <P>SOLUTION: When a performance pattern "3A" is input, CPU 261 selects "ready-to-win failure 3A" for displaying a moving picture for about 30 seconds as a performance display pattern (S31).
