An electrical wire comprising a conductor and a covering disposed over the conductor wherein the conductor comprises a thermoplastic composition. The thermoplastic composition comprises a poly(arylene ether); a polyolefin, a block copolymer; and flame retardant. The thermoplastic composition demonstrates desirable abrasion resistance, tensile elongation and flexural modulus.
