A process for producing a fluoroelastomer containing an unsaturated-bond-containing group at a backbone end and/or a side chain end. Also provided are a curable composition containing the fluoroelastomer and a molded article obtained by crosslinking the curable composition. The process for fluoroelastomer production comprises a step in which an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, and/or transition metal is caused to act on a fluoroelastomer having a part represented by the general formula (1): or the general formula (2): at a backbone end and/or a side chain end to convert the part represented by the general formula (1) or (2) into a part represented by the general formula (3).
