PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage information about parts and allow a designer or a manufacturer to easily select parts of good quality.

SOLUTION: A parts management system includes a parts database 119 for registering parts data about parts authorized for purchase according to a certain criteria; a mail server that receives information about parts from a parts supplier in the form of email and provides the received information to a person in charge of selecting parts; an update terminal 114 for updating the parts database of the parts according to the result of an authorization process implemented based on the information provided; and a design terminal for selecting certain parts for design from the parts registered in the database 119.
