PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot-in type disk device with improved mechanical reliability by making it possible to automatically load and drive either of two kinds of disks of different diameters and preventing the distal end of an arm in charge of carrying the disk by being swung on an optical pickup which records information to the disk or reproduces the information from damaging the optical pickup. SOLUTION: The disk device carries the disk inserted by the plurality of arms capable of supporting the outer peripheral edge of the two kinds of disks of different diameters and carrying them to the inside of the device or carries away the disk housed inside the device to the outside of the device. A turntable for fixing and rotationally driving the disk is provided on the swinging rear end part of an elevating/lowering frame, and an arm lowering regulating member is provided on the distal end of the arm passing through over the optical pickup in the state that the optical pickup reciprocated inside the elevating/lowering frame stands still at an initial position in a centrifugal direction.
