The invention relates to an ATR sensor element for the spectroscopy of a sample, comprising a sensor layer, made from a highly-refractive material which is transparent to the measured light and transmits the measured light by total reflection and brought into contact with the sample. The sensor layer is arranged on a first layer as substrate layer, whereby the first substrate layer is made from a material transparent to the measured light with a refractive index less than the refractive index of the sensor layer. |
