The mechanism has a motor cycle baseplate which can be fastened and marked by a retaining part for the attachment of a luggage item in the baseplate. The baseplate (3) is distributed over the motor cycle by several parts. On the surface of the baseplate are arranged suction cups (8) which have a diameter of approximately 10-25 mm. The distance of neighboring suction cups is smaller or equal to the diameter of the suction cups. The baseplate has a major face (3') and distant faces (7). The suction cups are arranged on the major face and the distant faces.
