The invention relates to a device for forming piles of flat deformable objects comprising a transferring device which receives different objects delivered in pockets and supplies said objects to an arrangement device. A row of cases moves across said arrangement device in such a way that different objects are inserted into said cases. During insertion, the objects receive velocity components in a direction of the case displacement, whereas said objects are delayed until standstill in the previous direction thereof. Braking is carried out by a surface contact to the case wall or a pre-inserted object in such a way that only low compression forces and through them deformation forces act upon.
