PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lipid metabolism ameliorant that comprises a component derived from a natural product as an active ingredient and safely and inexpensively provides an ameliorating effect on lipid metabolism by a reducing or inhibitory action on human and animal blood cholesterol levels and a food or a health function food containing the same.

SOLUTION: The lipid metabolism ameliorant comprises strained lees of a citrus fruit as an active ingredient. The lipid metabolism ameliorant is used as a hyperlipemia inhibitor. The food contains the lipid metabolism ameliorant.
