<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing probiotic yeast in non-lyophilized viable whole cells in the form of microcapsules. <P>SOLUTION: This method for preparing yeast microcapsules comprises (a) a step for centrifuging or microfiltering yeast cells from their culture solution, (b) a step for washing the yeast cells with water and then resuspending the washed yeast cells in sterilized water, (c), if necessary, a step for adding bentonite, kaolin, silica, microcellulose, lecithin sodium salt, and/or a natural or hydrogenated vegetable oil or animal oil to the suspension obtained in (b), (d) a step for drying the mixture obtained in (c) to a water content of 0.5 to 5% at low pressure at a temperature of 20 to 40°C, (e) a step for adding a vehicle to the dried materials and directly compression-molding the mixture, (f) a step for granulating the tablets obtained in (e), and (g) a step for coating the granules obtained in (f) with a melted wax. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
