<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit in which a low voltage of about 4 series cells, such as a fuel cell of 1V is usable, and a normal operation starts for sure. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply unit is constituted by the cells for the fuel cell, a voltage rise type power converter, a power switch, a voltage comparator and a reference voltage source, and supplies electric power to a load, wherein the cells for the fuel cell are connected to an input of the voltage rise type power converter, and the power switch has a function to interrupt supply of the electric power to the load by being connected between an output of the voltage rise type power converter and the load. The voltage comparator connects one input to the reference voltage source, and the other input to the cells for the fuel cell, and the power switch is controlled by an output of the voltage comparator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
