<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming method of an electrode for a solid polymer fuel cell, capable of eliminating cracks on an electrode surface. <P>SOLUTION: After painting an electrode forming slurry 39, such as a catalyst or carbon on a base material 38, the painted electrode forming slurry 39 is pressed in the thickness direction, while heating it by a hot roller 40, afterwards, an electrode 25 having a hard covering film on its surface layer 25a can be formed by drying the slurry 39, by irradiating microwaves by a microwave generating means 44.
