PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the recording of an opening and an ending to the necessary minimum for editing and arranging serial programs. SOLUTION: When sequentially recording a serial program comprising a first story to a third story from a hard disk onto a DVD, the opening and the main program of the first story program being a first program among the recorded programs are recorded and CMs and the ending are not recorded. The main program of the second story program is recorded and the opening, the CMs and the ending are not recorded. The main program and the ending of the third story program being the newest round program among the recorded programs are recorded and the opening and the commercial messages are not recorded. Through the above processing, the DVD records data resulting from editing the programs where the commercial messages are deleted and the opening and the ending are not duplicately recorded.
