摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance assembling property by eliminating the fastening work of a lock nut and to shorten the projection amount of a motor. SOLUTION: In the variable steering angle mechanism 30 having adjustment nuts 71, 74 for adjusting an axial position of a worm gear 61, after it is adjusted so as to eliminate backlash of a worm wheel 58 by the adjustment nuts 71, 74, a polygonal projection 82 of a holder plate 81 is engaged with a polygonal hole 73 of the adjustment nut 71 and a spline of a shaft 91 of the motor M is engaged with a spline hole at an end 65 of a worm gear shaft 62. When the motor M is fixed to a housing 31 by a bolt 93, the holder plate 81 is fastened together with the motor to be fixed and relaxing-stop of the adjustment nut 71 is performed. Since the lock nut is not used, the fastening work of the lock nut is eliminated to enhance the assembling property and since axial length of the worm gear can be shortened, the projection amount of the motor can be shortened.
