PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-split type continuously variable transmission for miniaturizing the whole device. SOLUTION: This power-split type continuously variable transmission is characterized by having a countershaft 18 juxtaposed on a variator input shaft, a first motive power transmission mechanism 10 for transmitting output of a continuously variable transmission mechanism to the countershaft, a second motive power transmission mechanism 9 for transmitting output of a third rotational element of a differential gear mechanism to the countershaft, a third motive power transmission mechanism 11 connected to the countershaft and an output shaft and merging and selectively transmitting output of the first motive power transmission mechanism and output of the second motive power transmission mechanism to the output shaft by a second engaging means, and a fourth motive power transmission mechanism 21 connected to the countershaft and the output shaft and merging and selectively transmitting the output of the first power transmission mechanism and the output of the second motive power transmission mechanism to the output shaft by a third engaging means in the inverse rotational direction of the rotational direction transmitted by the third motive power transmission mechanism.
