PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic disk equipped with a highly adhesive lubricant layer capable of preventing flystiction damage or corrosion damage even with a very narrow floating amount of 10nm or less, and suppressing migration even during high-speed rotation. SOLUTION: This method includes a step of forming a magnetic layer, a protective layer containing hydrogen, and a lubricant layer on a substrate. The hydrogen content of the protective layer is 3 atom % to 20 atom % when measured by a hydrogen front dispersion method. The lubricant layer is formed on the protective layer by preparing a lubricant containing a mixture of a compound represented by a chemical formula 2 and a compound represented by a chemical formula 2.
