PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine wherein oil separation performance of a breather chamber can be improved. SOLUTION: In this engine wherein a head cover 3 is assembled to a cylinder head through a head gasket 2, the breather chamber 5 is formed in the head cover 3, and the inner wall surface of the ceiling part 4 of the head cover 3 is forced to look on the breather chamber 5, the ceiling part 4 of the head cover 3 is separated from the peripheral wall part 6, the ceiling part 4 is detachably assembled to the peripheral wall part 6 with the ceiling gasket 7 held between them, the bottom wall part 8 of the breather chamber 5 is provided on the inside of the peripheral wall part 6, the space between the ceiling part 4 and the bottom wall part 8 is used as the breather chamber 5, breather chamber entrances 9/9 are formed on the bottom wall part 8, and an breather chamber exit 10 is formed on the ceiling part 4 of the breather chamber 5.
