PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water intake device which intakes water near a water surface and is easily installed. SOLUTION: The water intake device (1) intakes water in an intake range which ranges from a water surface to about 5 m depth in dam lake (2). The water intake device has a floating water part (5) which is formed into a band shape with both ends attached around the dam lake (2) and floats in the dam lake (2) and divides the water surface into the side of a water intake port (4) and the other part, an impervious part (7) attached to the floating water part (5) and located under the water in the dam lake (2), and a permeation part (8) provided between the impervious part (7) and the floating water part (5).
