PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical tight material which can stably secure high airtightness and which can reduce a sash opening/closing force. SOLUTION: This vertical tight material is equipped with a base part 10a which is fixed to an outdoor side surface of a meeting stile 6b of an inner sash 2, and a seal piece 10b which protrudes toward a meeting stile 6a of an outer sash from the base part. The seal piece is inclined in such a manner that a leading end is positioned on the closing-direction side of the inner sash with respect to a base end in the opened state of the inner sash, and elastically deformed in the closed state of the inner sash, so that the leading end can be positioned on the opening-direction side of the inner sash with respect to the base end; and a side surface abuts on a depth surface 18 of the meeting stile of the outer sash.
