The invention concerns a device consisting of a fixed cowl for making the inside of a ship rear inhabitable while sheltering the steering station. The device therefor comprises, according to a first feature, a fixed cowl (a) located on the deck (b) or the coaming (c) of a ship, immediately in front of the steering station (d). Said cowl is sufficiently high to create an inhabitable volume (e) in line with said device, while forming a front protection of the steering station (d). Said device can act as front support and protection of various navigation instruments (f). The inside of the device can accommodate a shower (g) and/or toilets (h) which can be ventilated and lit (i). The device may indifferently be used for protecting tillers or steering wheels. |
