PACKET RETRANSMISSION ALGORITHM

[PROBLEMS] In the conventional automatic retransmission request method, data which has caused an error is retransmitted without fail and if an error occurs frequently, the transmission delay is increased by data retransmission. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A reception device includes a packet acquisition unit for acquiring a packet containing an error correction code used in a block unit, an error packet counting unit for counting the number of error packets in the packets, a judgment result acquisition unit for acquiring a judgment result indicating whether the count value exceeds a limit error packet number which is the number of error packets which can correct the information in a block unit by the error correction code, and a retransmission request unit used when the judgment result indicates that the limit error packet number is exceeded, for executing a request for retransmission of a packet having a number of errors smaller than the number enabling correction of the information in the block unit by the error correction code.
