<p>A device for dispensing a selected article comprises: carriers for carrying rows of articles; dispensing means present on the front side of the carriers for dispensing one article at a time; pushing means added to each row for pushing a selected row forward, whereby this row slides until the foremost article falls onto the dispensing means; detecting means for detecting the passage of a falling article and generating an associated detection signal; a control panel for indicating the selection in respect of an article to be dispensed; a central control unit which is connected to the control panel and which, on the basis of the information received from the control panel, activates the pushing means of a selected row and ends the activation when the detection signal is received; and a dispensing opening connecting to the dispensing means.</p>
