In a process to fabricated a wooden beam for e.g. structural purposes, a series of planks are placed one on the other. Each plank bears two grooves on the upper face and two almost matching tongues on the lower face. The tongue sidewalls are slightly shorter than the groove sidewalls. A bonding agent is applied to one plank interface and the tongues inserted into the grooves under modest pressure. Straps bind the resulting wooden beam. Also claimed is a suitable beam.
