PATTERN POSITION DETECTOR AND PATTERN POSITION DETECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern position detector and a pattern position detecting method for rapidly detecting the position of a predetermined pattern included in a two-dimensional code or the like while improving accuracy in detecting the pattern position.

SOLUTION: This pattern position detector is provided with an information expressing code acquisition section for acquiring an information expressing code as image region data which is image data of each image region of divided image regions having a plurality of pixels; a pattern rough position detecting section for carrying out pattern matching of adding a plurality of pixel values of image region data determined based on the colors of the pixels and detecting the specific image region as a rough position on the information expressing code of the predetermined pattern; and a detailed position detecting section for detecting the detailed position of the predetermined pattern in a range narrower than the rough position based on the difference of a plurality of executed result values executed for different image region data, and a difference ratio which is the ratio of the difference.
