<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a fingering information generating device that generates fingering information on easy-to-play fingering while taking the positions of hands moving according to music progress into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: Breaks of keying operation is detected from musical piece data MidiEvent representing respective sounds constituting the music, phrase data Phrase specifying respective sections defined by the detected breaks is generated, and the positions of the hands are set by the sections that the generated phrase data Phrase specifies according to an operation range determined by the key position of the highest pitch and the key position of the lowest pitch wherein keys are operated in the sections.
