PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the motor drive circuit which accelerates a motor to a through region without being influenced by the magnitude of the backlash. SOLUTION: A control circuit 1, when receiving a start signal, successively reads a data from a profile table 11 to output on the basis of this data a current preset signal 101 and a control pulse 102 to the drive circuit 2. The drive circuit 2 successively switches the phase driving the motor 3 according to the control pulse 102 from the control circuit 1. The drive circuit 2 sets the level of a current supplied to the motor 3 according to the signal of the current preset signal 101 from the control circuit 1. In this case, the drive circuit 2 decelerates the motor 3 after starting it, toward the lowest speed, further to set a rotational angle in this deceleration section almost larger than the back lash additionally to set the drive current in the deceleration section smaller than the drive current in an acceleration section toward the through region from the lowest speed.
