PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document data generating apparatus for generating print data by a server according to an instruction from a client, the apparatus in which data for limiting display/print frequency is incorporated in a data format itself, and document data generation for writing the limiting data is provided as an API library independently of a server application. SOLUTION: The document data generating apparatus comprises: a document data generating means for generating document data; a file generating means for writing document data generated by the document data generating means to a file, based on a predetermined document format; a use frequency limiting value writing means for writing a count value for limiting the allowable frequency of display/print of the document data to the file when writing data to the file by using the file generating means; and an available frequency determining means for determining an available frequency limiting value according to user authority when writing the the available frequency limiting value by the available frequency limiting value writing means.
