PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase pixels, to improve a continuous shooting performance, to reduce power consumption and to increase a photographable number during a battery operation. SOLUTION: A buffer memory 6 is divided into a first memory block 11 and a second memory block 12 which can be activated to an active state individually. The respective memory blocks 11 and 12 are activated corresponding to a device state, that is the continuous shooting speed of photographing, the recording image quality of photographing, the number of continuously shootable frames of photographing, the residual power of a battery which is a power source, the transmission speed of image data to the outside by an interface 8 and a recording speed to a memory card 9 by the interface 8 or the like.
