PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive controlling device capable of protecting a transistor or a load whose temperature rises in accordance with the supply state of drive electric power against the temperature with a comparatively cost-effective structure. SOLUTION: The ECU 22 of an air conditioner 20 counts the number of times when it is judged based on an impressed voltage VM(-) that a period of time when the drive electric motor is not supplied to a motor M exceeds a prescribed time. If the number of times exceeds a predetermined number, the supply of the drive electric power by a transistor Tr is stopped. If the ECU 22 judges that an abnormality occurs to the motor M, the ECU 22 thereby controls a drive circuit 21 in such a way as to stop the supply of the drive electric power of the transistor Tr, so that the transistor Tr and the like can be protected from the temperature even if the drive circuit 21 is of a comparatively cost-effective type.
